Many people wonder how to determine if a bracelet will fit them, if they cannot try it on in person.
At Jewels by Jazzy, our Bracelets are measured on a bracelet mandrel ( as seen in the photo above), to provide you with the exact INTERIOR DIAMETER of the bracelet.

Many companies will quote you the bracelet length as the size of the bracelet. This is not accurate unless you are buying a thin, chain bracelet.
In the photo above, notice how the bracelet length measures 7 1/2" HOWEVER the bracelet interior diameter is only 6 3/4"? This bracelet would NOT fit a person with a 7" wide wrist.
A bracelet's length and a bracelet's interior diameter are most often 2 different measurements.
Your wrist is fairly round, correct? So, a bracelet needs to be measured in-the-round, not flat, to mimic your wrist. By placing the bracelet on a mandrel as seen in the photo above, we obtain a true size for that bracelet.
Why is this? As the beads or stones in a bracelet become larger, it takes more bracelet length to wrap that bracelet around your wrist. So a bracelet with large, round beads will need to be longer as the hole in the middle of the beads is now further away from your wrist. Small round beads will sit closer to your wrist as the bead hole is closer to your wrist and the bracelet does not need to be as long to wrap all the way around.
Here is a simple explanation on how to buy the correct bracelet size when purchasing from the Internet or from a catalog.
1. Measure your wrist with a flexible measuring tape, just over your wrist bone or the widest part of your wrist.
2. Add 1/2" to this measurement (this allows you flexibility and movement in your bracelet so you can fasten the clasp).
3. Purchase a bracelet that has an INTERIOR DIAMETER of the new size (or slightly larger) that you just calculated.
